We're Moving!!!!
The HPS website is transitioning to a new web platform, which will be available for the start of the 2017 school year. While in this transition, many of the links, photos and other web content may change or become unavailable without notice. The athletic calendar, district event calendar and building event calendars will remain active, as will the district lunch menus. The link to the new Athletics webpage and the Athletics webpage itself will be unaffected. We would like to thank you for your patience and understanding during this transition, and we look forward to providing more accessible and responsive web content in the future!
From the Superintendent's Desk

On behalf of the Board of Education, administration, and staff, I would like to officially welcome all students, staff, and families! This school year promises to be one that is exciting, challenging, and full of opportunities for each and every child in our system.

Our mission is to educate and empower each student to be successful in life. As the world continues to rapidly change, our schools need to change as well. We have to create opportunities for our students to develop 21st Century skills such as critical thinking, communication, problem solving, and collaboration. Today’s students need the ability to adapt to their ever‐changing environment as well as concentrate on core subject areas and curricular content so all students leave our doors being college and work ready.

As a school district, we know we cannot do this alone. We need solid partnerships with our parents, families, and community to help each child reach their full potential. Parent involvement is a critical ingredient for children to be successful in school. Studies show that parent engagement promotes many benefits for students including higher achievement, better social skills and behavior, and increased likelihood of graduation. The staff at HPS wants you to feel welcome and valued as a partner in your child’s education.
I sincerely hope I have the opportunity to connect with many of you as we work together to support student learning and help our children achieve their dreams.

I am confident that together we can make this a great school year full of new and innovative opportunities for our children to learn and reach their full potential.
GO INDIANS!
