Important Message from Superintendent Andy Hubbard:

Dear Parents,

  I am reaching out to you in response to concerns recently raised regarding the wellbeing of students at our High School and Middle School campus. The school district has been proactive in our response to rumors of a non-specific threat to our students’ safety. In conjunction with the Hartford Police Department, we have increased police presence throughout the school day and will continue to do so as a precaution for the next several days.
  We will continue our unwavering commitment to make the safety of our students and staff the top priority at Hartford Public Schools. Parents, please take some time tonight to discuss with your children that if at any time they become aware of a potential danger to them self or others, it is their duty to report it immediately to a staff member. Prompt action will help the administration investigate and deal swiftly with any such issue.
  Recognizing that children are our most valuable and precious resource, my pledge to you along with my fellow administrators and Board of Education is to continue at any cost to provide a safe and positive learning environment for all students.

Sincerely,

Andy Hubbard
Superintendent
Hartford Middle School
Grades 6-8

Parents and Students;
Welcome to the 2014-15 school year!
I BELIEVE!

First off, I believe in our kids.  I believe that all students can learn at a high level.  We have high expectations for our kids, and our mission is to ensure that every student meets those expectations.  Our kids will be exposed to a rigorous curriculum, targeted interventions, online activities at school and home, the Extended Learning Opportunity after school, and other programs designed to prepare all of them for educational success.
Second, I believe in our parents.  I believe that you are committed to the academic, behavioral, and social excellence of our kids. The partnership between you and our school is very important to the success of our students.  We are organizing activities throughout the school year for you and your child to share.  You are an essential piece to our mission.
Last, but certainly not least, I believe in our great staff.  I believe that every single person in our building is committed to success for all of our children.  Custodians, cooks, aids, teachers, administrators, and everyone else that enters Hartford Middle school is striving to provide a safe, challenging, and rewarding experience for our kids.
            I BELIEVE IN HARTFORD MIDDLE SCHOOL!
