HARTFORD HIGH SCHOOL
Snow Days
Poor road conditions and brutal temperatures have caused Hartford Public Schools to cancel 9 school days so far this school year. Some leeway is given by the State for our inevitable winter storms and other unforeseeable contingencies by allowing the first six days of pupil instruction missed to still be counted toward our minimum requirement of 179 days. Consequently, when more than 6 days are canceled, schools must schedule additional pupil instruction days for each day after 6. For an additional day to be counted, pupil attendance must reach at least 75%.
Failure to do so would result in a decrease in a district’s state aid allotment.

As of March 24th, our last scheduled day of school will be June 16th.  If we have more cancelations or a change in state law, this calendar could possibly change.

June 11th          Full Day
June 12th          Full Day
June 15th          Full Day
June 16th          ½ Day for Students

Remember back to this past Christmas when our High School classes chose two children’s names per class to buy gifts for?   Well, we have received a Thank You card from the Department of Human Services from several of their caseworkers whose children were the recipients and we’d like to share their words with you:

“Thank you for all you have done to give so many children a very Merry Christmas!”, “Your efforts and coordination brought so much joy to many families.  You made a huge difference to the little lives we serve.  Thank you!”, May you all be blessed 100-fold for your overwhelming kindness shown to children with special needs.”, “I wish you could see the smiles on the faces of the children and parents who were blessed with your gifts.  Thank you so much!”, “Thank you so much for your kindness.  Your generosity goes beyond your years”.
It’s a wonderful thing and a great feeling to help others.  Thank you again, HHS students – you are the best!!!
