Success comes from the excellent partnerships throughout the diverse student body, staff, parents and community members. The Hartford Public Schools have been serving the community for more than 100 years with rigorous academic standards and quality education for our students. The ever expanding curriculum and extra-curricular programs continue to meet the needs of over 1,300 students from Pre-K through 12th grade to prepare them for the workforce or college. Additional opportunities for Adult and Community Education further enhance the district offerings in the truest spirit and tradition of Indian Pride.

(As reported by Bridge Magazine and the Center for Michigan.)
Poor road conditions and brutal temperatures have caused Hartford Public Schools to cancel 9 school days so far this school year. Some leeway is given by the State for our inevitable winter storms and other unforeseeable contingencies by allowing the first six days of pupil instruction missed to still be counted toward our minimum requirement of 179 days. Consequently, when more than 6 days are canceled, schools must schedule additional pupil instruction days for each day after 6. For an additional day to be counted, pupil attendance must reach at least 75%.
Failure to do so would result in a decrease in a district’s state aid allotment.
As of March 24th our last scheduled day of school will be June 16th. If more cancelations occur or a change in state law,
this calendar could possibly change.
